Yesterday we finally got to play last year’s Y7 County Cup Final. Our team put in a fantastic performance, beating a strong Howard of Effingham side with 5 overs to spare. Special shoutout to Dylan who was named Man of the Match by the umpires! Well done to all the players!

Record breaking GCSE Results - 51% of all grades are Grade 7 and above (23% nationally). 33% of all grades are Grade 8 or 9. 234 grade 9s and 12 9-9 grades in Combined Science. 88% of students achieved 5 or more GCSEs including English and Maths. 92% of grades are at G4 or above.

This week our STEM Explorers showcased some some incredible experiments, including: building a 24-hour analogue clock, designing a hoverboard & studying bacteria under UV radiation. Students proudly presented their findings on posters to students and staff.

OCTOBER: Open Evening for September 2026 entry: Thursday 16 October 2025; 6.00 - 8.00pm; Main Hall presentations 6.00pm and 6.45pm; no booking required
NOVEMBER: Applications closing date for 2026 entry: Friday 21 November 2025
JANUARY/FEBRUARY: Review meetings take place
FEBRUARY/MARCH: Following review meetings, conditional offer letters emailed to applicants; offers are conditional on candidates meeting the minimum entry requirements upon receipt of GCSE results
JUNE: Induction Day
AUGUST: Online enrolment for all students is the same day as GCSE results are released.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

The overall minimum entry requirement for Hinchley Wood is 7 GCSE passes, comprising grades 9 - 4, INCLUDING English and Maths. Individual subject, minimum grade requirements can be viewed via the link in the left hand column (bottom of the page on a mobile device) of this page.

A Level Subject Choices - we understand that applicants can sometimes change their minds about the choice of subjects they select in an application. It is, therefore, possible to change subjects up until enrolment day, provided they fit within the options table, the student meets our entry criteria and there is space in the class.
PLEASE NOTE: Subject option blocks may change after the review meeting phase of the application process; students affected will be contacted.

There is no catchment area for Hinchley Wood Sixth Form.
Places are offered based on minimum entry requirements being achieved and the full application process being completed.
There is a Published Admissions Number of 20 for non-Hinchley Wood School applicants. If there is over-subscription for places, the Sixth form Admissions Policy will be applied. This number DOES NOT include applicants who apply via the Surrey County Cricket 6th Form Programme.
