Big shoutout to our Year 8 Boys Rugby 7s team! Despite being the only state school, they showed true grit at the Danes Hill School tournament last Wednesday. Our boys fought hard and made some awesome tries, contributing to Huxley MB being named in the all-star team for the day! pic.twitter.com/MEQ4tP3pyF

About Sixth Form

Hinchley Wood Sixth Form is a lively, vibrant and respected part of Hinchley Wood School, with over 200 students across two year groups, which generally means there is never a dull moment!

Sixth formers enjoy the benefits of a dedicated, self-contained centre within the main school where they can socialise in a large common room with a kitchen area (tea and coffee provided) and vending machines, or use their spare time wisely in the private study rooms or dedicated IT area!

The sixth form social calendar is enviable, and includes bowling at Rotunda, ice skating at Hampton Court, dinner at Zizzi's, annual fundraising Panto, West End theatre trips (Wicked; Matilda; War Horse; 42nd Street, Jersey Boys...), a biennial trip to New York, a leavers Boat Party on the Thames and end of year Water Sports day at Liquid Leisure!

However, whilst the social element of sixth form life is taken very seriously at Hinchley Wood, learning is taken just as seriously.

There are over 20 A level courses to choose from and students are supported on a day-to-day basis by an experienced, enthusiastic sixth form team that comprises: subject and form tutors, heads of learning, a dedicated sixth form co-ordinator and a UCAS and work experience guidance supporter, overseen by a Head of Sixth Form.  The mental health and general wellbeing of students is paramount and all sixth formers have access to a weekly, confidential session in which they can discuss any issues they might have with an experienced staff member.

Race for life group shotOur ethos is simple - work hard and you will achieve!
