Posted on: 16/08/2018Record breaking A Level results ACROSS THE BOARD!
Students, staff, not to mention parents, are celebrating a superb set of A Level results that has broken records across the board!
Of all grades achieved, 35 per cent were A/A*; 66 per cent A*-B and an incredible 90 per cent were A*-C.
Five students achieved A* grades and 16 attained A*/A in all their subjects, whilst 52 students secured three or more A*-Bs; more than 95 per cent of the year group achieved the required grades for their chosen university.
One department has exceptional cause to celebrate as yet another school record was broken by the Mathematics results; an incredible 71 per cent of A Level students scored A* or A grades! Head of Maths, Dinusha Cox, said:
"Huge congratulations to all our Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Use of Maths students who worked extremely hard to achieve these outstanding results. We are very proud of them and look forward to seeing their future successes."
Commenting on all the Year 13s achievements, Head of Sixth Form, Rebecca Wiscombe, said:
"I am thrilled and delighted at these wonderful results for all our students. As a group they could not have worked harder and the results are a fitting reward for the dedication they have shown over the past two years.
"I would also like to record my thanks to all the staff who have helped our students to achieve such fantastic results, which are all the more significant given the greater depth and challenge of the new A Level courses.
"Congratulations to all our students on their outstanding achievements this summer and we wish them well as they head off to the next stage of their lives."
