Friday the Yr 13 composition workshop that took place with Dani Howard (award winning composer) and Mike Poyser . It was an amazing opportunity for the students to work with them both and feel inspired to work on their A Level compositions.

Early success for sixth form Young Enterprise team

Hard work is paying off already for this year's enthusiastic Young Enterprise team. 

At the recent Young Enterprise ‘Half Year Festival’ held in Camberley, the Hinchley Wood Sixth Form company ‘Diffuse’, beat off competition from other Surrey schools to win the Best Presented Team prize.  This follows on from their award for Best Business Plan in November.

‘Diffuse’ is a company offering a wide range of scented candles which proved very popular over the Christmas period and more recently for Valentine’s and Mother’s Day gifts.

The Young Enterprise programme runs throughout one academic year and challenges students to set up and run their own business. The company members have to start from scratch, deciding what to produce, how to sell and market the product and ultimately make and distribute the finished article.  All of which has to be backed up by company accounts and a detailed business plan.
