Partnership with Parents
Partnership with Parents is the group established to provide an additional communication channel between parents/carers and the school.
Partnership with Parents Evenings are held twice a year to allow key issues to be addressed by members of school staff or invited external speakers. In recent years, topics of focus have included advice for parents on the risks associated with Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE), online grooming and access to alcohol and drugs.
Our presentation in March 2018 was by Bob Tait who discussed, with parents, the dangers of drugs, alcohol and legal highs; he went on to link them to recent changes to in law. Bob also provided advice and guidance, making particular reference to the consequences of a young person being associated with drugs, alcohol, misuse of social media and the effect this could have on future, further education applications or employment opportunities. Please find documents and resources from this very informative talk below. The 'Party Format' (see document below) has been trialled in other schools and parents have found it very useful when hosting parties for young people.
