33 students from HWS have had their poems selected for publication in the official competition book of the national poetry competition, 'I Have a Dream'.  The overall winners are yet to be announced and the book of successful entries will be published in March 2026.

Our choir, made up of students from Years 7, 8 and 9, enjoyed a wonderful afternoon today at the Claygate Day Centre with the Dementia group. ❤️ It was truly heart-warming to see young and old coming together and sharing the festive spirit through music. 🎶✨

9JB held a brilliant bake sale at break on 12th December to fund the Year 9 Senior Tea Party we’re hosting in February. All proceeds will help us welcome senior citizens from Hinchley Wood for an afternoon of tea, treats and company. They raised an incredible £135.20! 🌟

Celebrating Our United Against Bullying GOLD Award!

 

Anti bullyWe are delighted to share that Hinchley Wood School has been awarded United Against Bullying GOLD School Status! This incredible achievement recognises the hard work, dedication, and teamwork of our school community in creating a safer, kinder, and more inclusive environment for everyone. It’s a proud moment that reflects how we stand together to make a real difference.

During the summer term, our fantastic team of 60 Anti-Bullying Representatives (ABRs) from Year 9, led inspiring workshops for Year 6 pupils, helping them understand what bullying means, the different roles people can play in incidents, and how to respond in challenging situations.

Since then our ABRs have continued their mission by running refresher sessions for our new Year 7 students — and they’re now gearing up for Anti-Bullying Week, starting on 10th November. We can’t wait to share more details soon in a special letter outlining the events planned for that week.
