The Sixth Form Team was delighted to welcome over 600 visitors to their Open Evening on Thursday 16th October.
Prospective Sixth Form students from Hinchley Wood and many other schools came along to learn more about student life, explore the wide range of A Level courses on offer, and even sample some freshly made popcorn in the Common Room!
Around 100 current Sixth Form students were on hand, eager to share their experiences of both academic study and life beyond the classroom. During the speeches, guests heard from students who joined Hinchley Wood from other schools and spoke about the warm welcome they received. Others described founding new initiatives such as the successful Sixth Form Rugby Team and the student- run MedSoc for aspiring doctors, dentists, and vets, while some reflected on the many trips and events that have made their time here so memorable.
Visitors were also treated to outstanding performances from two Sixth Form A Cappella groups, along with a cricket demonstration from our first cohort of Surrey County Cricket Scholars.
It was a fantastic evening to round off the first half of term.
