If your child will reach the age of 11 between 1 September 2025 and 31 August 2026, you can apply for a secondary school place from 1 September 2025. All applications must be made through your local authority. We hope the information provided on this page will be helpful in guiding you through the application process.

| 2nd March 2026 | National Offer Day. Applicants who applied online will receive an email with their outcome. Letters will be sent by 1st class post to applicants who applied on paper and do not have access to an email address. |
| 16th March 2026 | Date by which parents must accept or decline their offer of a school place. |
| 26th March 2026 | Waiting List goes live. Parents may contact the school to find our their child's position on the list. |
| 13th April 2026 | Deadline for appeals to be lodged with Surrey School Appeals Service |
Admissions Appeals
Parents have the right to appeal to an independent panel against the governors’ decision not to offer a place. If your child is not offered a place at Hinchley Wood School and you wish to appeal, you must submit your appeal through the Surrey Schools Appeals Service. Appeals can be made by completing the online form or by downloading and submitting a paper version. Appeals will not start being heard until after the relevant closing date has passed. Appeals lodged after these dates will be heard within 40 school days of the appeal deadline or 30 school days of being lodged, whichever is the later date.
Appellants will be sent notification of their appeal hearing at least 10 clear school days in advance of the hearing. Appellants will be sent a copy of the school's case, normally a week in advance of the hearing.
Appellants must ensure that any further evidence not included with their initial appeal is received by the stated deadline, which will be clearly highlighted in the appeal hearing notification letter. Any additional evidence or information received after this date might not be considered at the appeal hearing.
