✨ A special farewell ✨ This week, some of our Year 7 girls returned to their primary school, Long Ditton St Mary’s, to attend the Christmas concert and wish their former music teacher well as she begins a new adventure. It was a truly lovely send-off for Mrs Headley 🎶💛

9JB held a brilliant bake sale at break on 12th December to fund the Year 9 Senior Tea Party we’re hosting in February. All proceeds will help us welcome senior citizens from Hinchley Wood for an afternoon of tea, treats and company. They raised an incredible £135.20! 🌟

School Development Fund - Parent/Carer Support

We are incredibly grateful for the support we receive from so many of our parents/carers, but if you do not currently offer the school financial support, one way you can make a huge difference to the school is through making regular contributions to the Hinchley Wood School Development Fund (“Fund”).   This year, the focus of our fundraising will be securing the funds to enable us to push forwards with our exciting plans to build a new library for the school which will include additional study space for students in our growing 6th Form.

What is the Hinchley Wood School Development Fund?

A Fund administered by Trustees who operate independently to the school and who distribute funds to the school exclusively. It provides funds for school facilities that cannot be covered out of government funding. Previous purchases by the Fund include: school minibuses, new tennis court, playground canopies, playground benches and tables, bike sheds, new drama studio, gym equipment etc.

Is making a contribution compulsory?

No – any contribution is completely voluntary. This scheme is only for people that are able and wish to make a contribution but this request comes at a time when all school budgets are under increasing pressure. Indeed, we have just been advised that HWS will receive no funding increase whatsoever for 2026/27CLICK HERE for more details.

How can I make a contribution?

You can set up a Direct Debit to make monthly contributions to the Fund, or if you prefer, make a single one-off payment. A copy of the Direct Debit mandate form below.   Please complete and either hand in to the school reception or scan and send to acheeseman@hinchleywoodschool.co.uk

How much should I contribute?

For those who are able, we would ask for a voluntary contribution of £15 per month per child. Some contribute more and some less - every pound really does count.  If you are already making a contribution and feel that you are able to increase the amount you currently donate each month, please send an email with the proposed amendment to Andrea Cheeseman at acheeseman@hinchleywoodschool.co.uk
