We are excited to celebrate the successful completion of pre-expedition training for students taking part in the Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) programme. Students in Years 9–12 have worked extremely hard to develop the essential skills and knowledge needed for their upcoming expeditions. Despite a sunny but chilly Saturday, they showed enthusiasm, resilience, and excellent teamwork as they prepared for the challenges ahead.
Throughout the training, students developed key skills including map reading, route planning, first aid, and outdoor safety. They also strengthened their ability to work effectively as part of a team, supporting one another in practical tasks and decision-making. It has been wonderful to see their confidence grow as they embraced each new challenge and prepared for the adventures to come.
We would like to thank all students for their commitment and hard work, and parents/carers for their continued support. Whether through encouragement, helping with logistics, or celebrating achievements along the way, parental involvement plays a vital role in the success of the programme. Our thanks also go to the Activ staff and volunteer teachers who generously gave their time to support the training. We look forward to seeing our students put these skills into practice on their expeditions and sharing their continued successes in the next phase of the DofE programme.
