Once again, our annual Sports Day had to be adapted due to the heatwave. To ensure the safety and wellbeing of our students and avoid them competing during the hottest part of the day, we brought the event forward so that it began at the start of the first period in the school day. Although conditions remained very warm, students competed with great enthusiasm as they battled for valuable House points. Every competitor gave a determined effort to help their House, demonstrating resilience, teamwork and outstanding sportsmanship throughout the day.
The enthusiasm of our students was fantastic to see, with loud cheers and unwavering encouragement for every participant. From medal winners to those who contributed just a few points to their House total, every student competed with pride and played an important part in making the day such a success.
Scores on the doors:
1st Place - Hawking 1699 points
2nd Place - Luther King 1580 points
3rd Place - Nightingale 1535 points
4th Place - Frank 1513 points
We are extremely grateful to Mr Scammell and our PE Department for the outstanding organisation of the event, and to all the staff who coached, supervised, officiated and judged, making Sports Day a memorable and enjoyable occasion for everyone involved.
