33 students from HWS have had their poems selected for publication in the official competition book of the national poetry competition, 'I Have a Dream'.  The overall winners are yet to be announced and the book of successful entries will be published in March 2026.

Our choir, made up of students from Years 7, 8 and 9, enjoyed a wonderful afternoon today at the Claygate Day Centre with the Dementia group. ❤️ It was truly heart-warming to see young and old coming together and sharing the festive spirit through music. 🎶✨

9JB held a brilliant bake sale at break on 12th December to fund the Year 9 Senior Tea Party we’re hosting in February. All proceeds will help us welcome senior citizens from Hinchley Wood for an afternoon of tea, treats and company. They raised an incredible £135.20! 🌟

Year 11 Students Experience Life as Sixth Formers

On Wednesday, 21st January, over 200 Year 11 students enjoyed the opportunity to become "Sixth Formers for a Day!" - a valuable glimpse into what the next academic year could look like at HWS Sixth Form. They participated in A Level taster sessions and engaged in a variety of enrichment activities, from football and badminton to debating and board games. The rainy weather limited the outdoor activities but did not dampen their spirits!

The day also included some free time, where students could explore the Sixth Form facilities, relax with friends in the common room, and take advantage of the vending machines. A highlight was visiting Bernie’s, the popular Sixth Form snack shack!

The feedback has been fantastic and our Year 11 students are now even more excited about continuing their journey into the Sixth Form here at Hinchley Wood.
