33 students from HWS have had their poems selected for publication in the official competition book of the national poetry competition, 'I Have a Dream'.  The overall winners are yet to be announced and the book of successful entries will be published in March 2026.

Our choir, made up of students from Years 7, 8 and 9, enjoyed a wonderful afternoon today at the Claygate Day Centre with the Dementia group. ❤️ It was truly heart-warming to see young and old coming together and sharing the festive spirit through music. 🎶✨

9JB held a brilliant bake sale at break on 12th December to fund the Year 9 Senior Tea Party we’re hosting in February. All proceeds will help us welcome senior citizens from Hinchley Wood for an afternoon of tea, treats and company. They raised an incredible £135.20! 🌟

Revoltingly Good Fun

A lucky group of Year 8 students had the wonderful opportunity to see the award-winning Matilda the Musical, and it proved to be an unforgettable evening of entertainment and inspiration. From the very first scene, students were completely drawn into the show’s vibrant storytelling, dazzling choreography, and catchy musical numbers. The wit, humour, and powerful messages of courage, resilience, and imagination resonated strongly with our students and kept them thoroughly engaged throughout the performance.

The students experienced the high energy of live theatre and witness the incredible talent and professionalism involved in a West End production. Many students left the theatre talking enthusiastically about their favourite songs, characters, and moments from the show!
