✨ A special farewell ✨ This week, some of our Year 7 girls returned to their primary school, Long Ditton St Mary’s, to attend the Christmas concert and wish their former music teacher well as she begins a new adventure. It was a truly lovely send-off for Mrs Headley 🎶💛

9JB held a brilliant bake sale at break on 12th December to fund the Year 9 Senior Tea Party we’re hosting in February. All proceeds will help us welcome senior citizens from Hinchley Wood for an afternoon of tea, treats and company. They raised an incredible £135.20! 🌟

A gutsy performance from our U18s in the National Bowl Quarter Final at Clayesmore. After going 19–0 down, the boys fought back with two brilliant second-half tries (including a full-length breakaway from Ralph M!) but narrowly missed the comeback, finishing 19–10.🏉✨

We are absolutely thrilled to share our GCSE results which students received this morning – they really have hit gold with a truly fantastic set of results, with school records broken!

  • There are so many fantastic headlines to highlight:
  • A record-breaking 51% of all grades are Grade 7 and above (23% nationally)
  • 33% of all grades are Grade 8 or 9 (again, a record for the school)
  • Another school record: 234 grade 9s and 12 9-9 grades in Combined Science – last year this was a   record for the school at 174!
  • 88% of students achieved 5 or more GCSEs including English and Maths.
  • 92% of all grades are at Grade 4 or above (70% nationally)

There are so many amazing individual achievements and here are just a few:

  • Rebecca P who gained nine Grade 9s
  • Eva E, Stanley H, Isla P, Sophie V who gained eight Grade 9s and one Grade 8.
  • Sofia I and Luke N with seven grade 9s and two grade 8s.

Under the leadership, care and guidance of the Key Stage 4 Team and the expert teaching from our staff, this ‘golden’ year group rose to any challenge they faced, embraced every opportunity offered to them and showed us exemplary attitudes in every way. A heartfelt thank you to all of our staff for their hard work and dedication as they guided and supported the students throughout their GCSEs.

“We are absolutely over the moon with the exceptional set of results that Year 11 have achieved. Their hard work and dedication has really paid off!”

“It was wonderful to see so many happy, smiling students this morning as they celebrated with staff, friends and family. We are delighted that so many of them have chosen to stay with us in the 6th Form, we cannot wait to see what they go on to achieve in the future. And for those moving on, we wish them every success.”
