On 5th March, Hinchley Wood School celebrated World Book Day in spectacular style! Staff and teachers wowed everyone with an incredible array of costumes, from Schrodinger’s Cat and mythological figures like Pandora and Ulysses, to the Mad Hatter—and even a few playful Little Misses.
Students joined in the fun with a literary quiz, tracking down specific characters from across the world of books. Over lunch, the excitement continued as three members of staff treated the school to live readings from their favourite novels. Highlights included a spine-chilling passage from Dracula, a vividly imaginative excerpt from Erin Morgenstern’s Night at the Circus, and a stirring selection from Margaret Atwood’s The Heart Goes Last.
As always, World Book Day at HWS was a brilliant celebration of stories, creativity, and imagination. Thank you to everyone who supported this event.
