With A Level exams now complete, Friday 26 June saw a double celebration for our Year 13 students as they reflected on their time at Hinchley Wood School with a relaxed leavers' assembly during the day, followed by their Island Party in the evening.
The celebrations began with Head of Year Ms Gray leading a presentation of memories and 'alternative awards' in a very warm school hall. From Year 7 photographs to pictures from Sixth Form events and trips, there were plenty of opportunities for shared laughter and fond reminiscences. The awards also included the inaugural presentation of the Alex Kristovnikoff Award by Mr Constantino. (Editor's note: see full story below)
Held at Ravens Ait, an island in the middle of the River Thames, the Year 13 Leavers' Party was equally blessed with hot weather. The beautiful setting provided the perfect backdrop as the 120 partygoers enjoyed an evening of dancing, chatting and capturing memories in photographs. It was a fitting way to celebrate the end of their time at Hinchley Wood School before they move on to exciting new opportunities.
A final word from Ms Gray, Head of Year:
"I feel so privileged to have worked with this year group. They have shown such determination and resilience across the two years. We had a fantastic evening celebrating them and their achievements at Ravens Ait. Even though they are leaving us to go on to bigger adventures, they will always have a special place here at Hinchley Wood School. We would like to wish them all the best with their exam results in August and cannot wait to hear about what they go on to do next."
