During the May half term, a group of Year 9 students took part in an unforgettable educational visit to Naples, where they immersed themselves in the history, geography, and the culture of one of Italy’s most fascinating regions.
The trip began with a visit to the iconic Mount Vesuvius. Students climbed the slopes of the famous volcano, gaining a unique insight into the geological forces that shaped the area and preserved some of the world’s most significant archaeological sites.
A major highlight of the visit was exploring the ancient Roman cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum. Walking through remarkably well preserved streets, homes, bathhouses, and public buildings brought the ancient world vividly to life. Students were captivated by the opportunity to learn about daily life in Roman times and to see first-hand the impact of the eruption of Vesuvius.
The group also enjoyed a memorable journey along the stunning Amalfi Coast, taking in breathtaking scenery before visiting the beautiful island of Capri provided an exceptional opportunity for students to deepen their understanding of the ancient world while creating lasting memories.
Throughout the trip, students demonstrated outstanding behaviour, curiosity, and enthusiasm. They embraced every opportunity to learn, ask thoughtful questions, and engage with the rich cultural and historical heritage of the region. Staff were extremely proud of the way they represented the school and supported one another throughout the visit.
Many thanks go to all staff who accompanied the visit, and to the students for making it such a successful and enjoyable experience.
We look forward to Naples 2027!
